Welcome to DoppleChat. By accessing or using our AI-powered chat persona service ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these Terms, you may not access the Service.

Please read these Terms carefully before using DoppleChat. Your use of the Service constitutes your acceptance of these Terms.

2. Description of Service

DoppleChat provides an AI-powered platform that allows you to:

🤖 AI Personas

Create AI personas that mimic real communication styles

💬 Interactive Chat

Engage in conversations with AI-generated personas

🔐 Secure Storage

Manage multiple personas with encrypted data storage

3. User Eligibility

To use DoppleChat, you must:

  • Be at least 13 years of age
  • Provide a valid email address for account creation
  • Verify your email through the verification code sent to you
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials

Account Responsibility: You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. We are not liable for unauthorized access resulting from your failure to secure your credentials.

4. Data Upload & Processing

📁 What Happens to Your Uploaded Chats:

Analysis Only

Your WhatsApp chat messages are analyzed to extract communication patterns and personality traits

Temporary Processing

Messages are processed during upload and then immediately discarded

What We Store

Only the AI-generated personality summary, person name, message count, and upload date

What We DON'T Store

Your actual WhatsApp messages are NOT saved in our database

💾 Conversation Storage:

Your conversations with AI personas (messages you type after creating a persona) are stored to maintain context and conversation history. You can delete these conversations or individual personas at any time.

5. User Responsibilities & Prohibited Uses

✅ You Agree To:

  • Only upload chat data that you have the legal right to use
  • Respect privacy and obtain consent when using others' communication data
  • Use the Service for lawful purposes only
  • Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials

❌ You Must NOT:

  • Upload malicious files, viruses, or harmful content
  • Impersonate others without their explicit consent
  • Use the Service for illegal, fraudulent, or harmful activities
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, hack, or compromise the Service

6. AI-Generated Content

Important Disclaimer:

DoppleChat uses Google Gemini AI to generate persona summaries and responses. The AI-generated content is based on patterns learned from the chat data you provide.

We do not guarantee the accuracy, appropriateness, or quality of AI-generated responses. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying any AI-generated content before using it.

7. Optional API Key Feature

🔑 Bring Your Own Key (Optional)

You may optionally provide your own Google Gemini API key. If you don't, we'll use our default API key to power the Service.

🔐 Dual-Layer Encryption

Your API key is protected with dual-layer encryption: client-side encryption with your password (AES-256-GCM) + server-side re-encryption with our secure key (Fernet).

⚠️ Rate Limits & Costs

If using your own API key, you are subject to Google's API rate limits and quotas. DoppleChat is not responsible for any API usage costs or quota limitations.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by DoppleChat and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Your Content: You retain all rights to the chat data you upload and the conversations you create. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process and store this data to provide the Service.

9. Service Availability

While we strive to maintain continuous service availability, we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to:

  • Scheduled maintenance and updates
  • Technical issues or server downtime
  • Third-party service interruptions (Google Gemini AI, etc.)

10. Account Deletion & Termination

Voluntary Account Deletion:

You may delete your account at any time through your profile settings. Upon deletion:

  • All personas and personality profiles are permanently deleted
  • All conversation history is permanently deleted
  • Your encrypted API key is permanently deleted
  • Your account data cannot be recovered

11. Limitation of Liability

DoppleChat is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

We are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to data loss, service interruptions, or AI-generated content issues.

12. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or through a notice on the Service. Continued use of DoppleChat after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
